This week, March 3-7, was National School Breakfast Week. The theme this year was a nod to noir with "Clue in to School Breakfast." As part of the celebrations, schools served special morning meals like blueberry pancakes, apple cinnamon bread with yogurt and strawberry overnight oats.
Any student who had a school breakfast this week also got entered into a raffle to win some cool books. At Old Hundred, two lucky students were given copies of Top Secret: Spies, Capers, Gadgets, and Classified Cases Revealed.
Breakfast is an essential meal that gives students the energy to be their best at school. Eating a healthy breakfast is linked to better attendance, academic performance and test scores.
